Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give

Thank you for giving

The Church of St. John the Evangelist fills a crucial niche in downtown Montreal, in the Canadian church, and in twenty-first-century Christendom. Its particular combination of traditional liturgy, orthodox outlook, and welcoming posture is unique to the region, and Our Lord continues to use the parish to care for those we meet. St. John’s is the only parish in Quebec to use the Book of Common Prayer for all its liturgies, and is the definitive and historical Anglo-Catholic presence in the province.

We thank you for giving generously to St. John’s. Your ongoing support is much appreciated. Although the pandemic hindered our regular routines of meeting as a congregation and of caring for those in the city around us, the ongoing running costs of St. John’s, $850 per day, continue.

Where will my gift go?

Feel free to indicate which fund you would like your gift to be designated toward:

  • General fund. For otherwise-undesignated donations toward the upkeep of the church and its mission; these donations are always most welcome!

  • Critical repairs. It may not be the stairway to heaven, but it is the stairway to our front doors, and they are in urgent need of repair, along with the buttresses of our front porch. Our historic building is beautiful and we do our best to maintain it, but it is costly.

  • Music fund. Let us continue to make a cheerful noise unto the Lord!

If you wish to make a donation in remembrance of a loved one, please include your loved one’s name so that we may add it to our All Souls’ Day commemorations. Thank you!

Thanks be unto GOD for HIS unspeakable gift
