How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings

It is a thrill to see our new people expand and relax as their Faith Grows in their Hearts and Minds.
June and July might have been the beginning of summer, but there was no break in the rhythm here at St. John’s. June began with the Feast of Pentecost, the second most important festival in the Church calendar, which was followed by Trinity Sunday, and by Corpus Christi on Thursday June 15.
The Clergy are sojourners. During my time at the seminary, I served as an intern in three different parishes. Each lasted one academic term; just enough time to fall in love with the community and to regret having to move on. It was an excellent preparation for parish ministry. However, these experiences have not made subsequent farewells any easier.
This year’s Jazz Mass was even bigger. Attendance rose by 25% for a total of some 165 Souls.
While we always observe la Saint-Jean with due solemnity (even if I pine for a solemn Te Deum and outdoor procession as in days of old), this year it was particularly special – and even more so for three individuals who played a major role in making the following weekend’s Jazz Mass happen.
It was a very sad good-bye to this young couple who made St. John’s their home church for the last four years.
That publisheth peace ; that bringeth good tidings of good , that publisheth salvation
